By André B. Sobocinski, historian and publications manager, Office of Medical History, U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery

It is with great pleasure that we present to you the fall 2012 edition of THE GROG. In our attempt to meet our standards of variety, we offer you original articles on: Mr. Roosevelt and the Origin of the PRT, Corpsmen of the 6th Marine Regiment, Navy Physicians Celebrate 100 Years, and much more. As always, we hope you enjoy this humble tour of the seas of Navy medical culture and heritage.

The Grog is a free quarterly publication of the BUMED Communications Directorate dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Navy medical history and culture.  It was founded in 2006 as a bimonthly newsletter of Navy medical history called The Grog Ration.  For more information about this journal or if you would like to be added to the electronic mailing address please comment in this blog.
