Navy Medicine’s Force Master Chief: Celebrating 119 Years of the Hospital Corps

It is with great pride and honor that I wish our Hospital Corpsmen a very happy 119th birthday!

Few military organizations can look upon their histories with the same degree of pride and awe as the Navy Hospital Corps. Since the establishment of the Hospital Corps, corpsmen have served with fidelity alongside their Sailors and Marines rendering aid whenever and wherever necessary.  This level of dedication has remained a strong current running through our history, regardless of the evolution of medical capabilities.

As we gather to celebrate, please take a moment to remember the sacrifices of past Hospital Corpsmen. The foundation of our success is built upon their courage, sacrifice, and unyielding desire to care for our Nation’s sons and daughters.

To all Hospital Corpsmen and their families, past and present, thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do.  It is an honor to represent you as the Force and a privilege to serve with you.

Happy 119th birthday Hospital Corps!

Sincerely,

H. SMITH JR

I want to thank every Hospital Corpsman for their service and dedication I have worked alongside them, providing excellent emergency health services. Many times these medical geniuses make the difference between life and death for a patient and sometimes you learn things you never would from a book working alongside those men and women who serve us as Corpsman in our uniform services once again with much respect it was an honor to be taught by you, happy birthday Korman
